Edward Ka-Spel: “Happy New Year” (Happy New Year, Beta-Lactum Ring 2005)

Though best known as the vocalist and co-founder of psychedelic weirdos The Legendary Pink Dots, Edward Ka-Spel has just as vast and sprawling a repertoire as a solo artist, having released dozens of albums and EPs of music that range from accessible songwriting to dreamy soundscapes. The title cut from his 2005 mini-album for the Beta-Lactum Ring label focuses on the latter, though his voice comes through clearly in its final moments.
