Bump & Grind vs. Third Eye Foundation: “Pan Odyssey (Third Eye’s Reconstruction)” (Substantia Sub Rosa, Sub Rosa 1999)

Matt Elliott’s woozy take on Bump & Grind’s “Pan Odyssey” is my favorite track on Sub Rosa’s first Substantia comp, having much in common with his fantastic Ghost album in its off-kilter samples and patterns, all underpinned with skittering breakbeat loops and reversals. Top notch.
