Erik Truffaz & Murcof: “Chaos” (Being Human Being, Mundo Recordings 2014)

Truffaz’s trumpet decays and reverberates within and around Murcof’s grimy structure, a really winning combination on this overlooked collaborative gem from 2014. I’m reminded of the techy, filtered trumpet explorations of Ben Neill in the late 90s, but this feels more cinematic and conceptual, more haunting.
