Orchestral Manœuvres in the Dark: “La Mitrailleuse” (The Punishment of Luxury OMD 2017)

The first teaser from OMD’s forthcoming album The Punishment of Luxury recalls some of the conceptual sampling found on their 1983 masterpiece Dazzle Ships. It must be vindicating to the foursome to be reunited making music on their own terms, considering how the commercial failure of Dazzle Ships essentially required them to shift focus toward brighter pink pop in the mid-80s to retain and expand on some of their early successes.

The Punishment of Luxury will be available September 1, 2017.
