CoH: “Terra Beyond (Terra)” (Mask Of Birth, Mego 2002)

Ivan Pavlov’s first full-length as COH still sounds fresh. I’ve been meaning to write some words about his latest, MUSIC VOL, which is quite good (though substantially different)… in the meantime, I’ve also been perusing his backcatalogue with renewed enthusiasm. I missed this one when Mego put it out almost 15 years ago, and the album both showcases his aesthetic even in this early form as well as the label’s penchant for deconstruction, glitchiness, and noise.
