Smash TV: “Locomotive Breath” (BPitch Control 2008)

While Smash TV’s first incarnation as a duo will likely always remain my favorite, this solo track from Holger Zilske after Michael Schmidt’s departure is pretty fantastic. There was something perfectly timed about their earliest EPs and debut album with all its bit-crushiness and glitchy stutters, but tracks like this one are a solid example of how the project has lived on with a lower profile and a slicker sound.
