Microstoria: “Endless Summer NAMM (Remix by Violent Onsen Geisha)” (Reprovisers, Thrill Jockey 1997)

As was so often the case around this time 20 years ago, Violent Onsen Geisha’s “remix” of Microstoria’s “Endless Summer NAMM” (originally on their SND album, Mille Plateaux 1996) has very little to do with the original and instead infuses a healthy dose of VOG’s dissonant playfulness, a hectic scattershot of musique concrete, samples, beats, and noise.
