Richard D. James’ AFX moniker in the 90s definitely had a fairly consistent sound, oscillating between abrasive plonky jams and jauntier tunes like this one. I’ve been digging back into these older ones, and, while across his various projects sometimes it feels same-same, the legacy of these records and their impact on dance music is still undeniable.
