Pan-Pot: “Apocalyptic Horseman” (Panorama, 2007 Mobilee)

Pan-Pot have never quite seemed to get their due when it comes to minimal techno and dance music. Their productions are slick, consistent, near-perfect — nary a detail out of place. They often split the difference between the most spare and obtuse side of minimal techno (Perlon and Ricardo Villalobos) and something darker, leaner, and meaner (Mark Broom, James Ruskin). Hopefully with the resurgence of non-melodic, darker techno, those sounds being explored and revived by the Stroboscopic Artefacts, Hospital, and Downwards, albums like this will get a proper revisit and get some of the love they deserve.
