Non: “Defenestration” (Physical Evidence, Mute 1982)

Boyd Rice’s finest noise material is from right around this time, up through Blood & Flame in 1986. This track appeared on his compilation Easy Listening for Iron Youth, and it’s always been a favorite of mine. He reprised it later as “Out Out Out” on his 1997 album God & Beast, but I far prefer his more raw, furious early material. There’s something so primal and nihilistic about it, physical and real.
