Throbbing Gristle: “Don’t Do As You’re Told, Do As You Think” (Heathen Earth, Mute 1980)

Throbbing Gristle sounding at their best in this release from 1980. The combo of Cosey’s cornet, Chris Carter’s strange synths, and miscellaneous chatter make this an especially leftfield excursion into the fringes of dance music. Genesis’s repetition of the title adds to the hypnotic vibe that pushes the track forward.
