Unbroken Dub: Checkpoint EP (Delsin)

Deep tracky goodness courtesy of the Delsin label. “I Want to Make This Louder” is perfectly named, a nice deep rolling groove that would probably be best served up on a massive, late-night PA. Its deep sub bass line and deeeep bass kicks make it perfect for that context, but it also sounds quite good cranked up on a good pair of headphones. “Det Special” presumably is a nod to Detroit with its buoyant bassline and pads, although to me it recalls the dusty cabinets of Theo Parrish more than the Big Three. “Insane” rounds it out with a touch of acid amidst a liquid swirl of sounds, a nice complement to the deep low-end of the previous cuts. Any of the three would make a handsome addition to a DJ set, but I like them just as well on their own.
