KMFDM: “The Unrestrained Use of Excessive Force” (What Do You Know, Deutschland?, Wax Trax! 1986)

KMFDM went on to become almost a parody of itself in the 90s, chanting their name and appropriating metal guitar riffs left and right. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like some of that stuff still, beyond my industrial days which are long gone, but this first album is such an oddity to me, and this final track is one of the most special. I like these early ones because I suspect they were still figuring out what they really wanted to do, and the experimentation that resulted in these early recordings comes through loud and clear.
