Will Sergeant: Themes for ‘GRIND’ (1982)

Will Sergeant is probably best known as one of the members of Echo & The Bunnymen, and this solo album was totally unknown to me until recently. It has a strange sort of wonder about it, especially considering its time of release, recalling some of the unusual and cinematic sounds of contemporaries like Tangerine Dream, Barre Phillips, or even perhaps Dome at times. It’s a fascinating listen from start to finish, a tragedy that it’s not more readily available or known about.
