B.C. Gilbert & G. Lewis: “3:4” (3R4, 4AD 1980)

Wire’s influence on music is undeniable, being one of the highest profile post-punk acts to surface in the late 70s and early 80s, and persevering through numerous changes over the last few decades. They’ve just released a new one, Nocturnal Koreans, but I’ve always been particularly fascinated by their side projects and the more experimental tendencies of Gilbert & Lewis in particular. This long one was released on their 3R4 album in 1980, and got reissued as part of their 8 Time compilation in the late 80s.
