Dead Can Dance: “Chant Of The Paladin” (The Serpent’s Egg, 4AD 1988)

Lisa Gerrard & Brendan Perry’s longtime collaborations have shifted shape several times, but I find The Serpent’s Egg to somehow be the perfect marriage of almost all of their aesthetics, both where they’d been before and where they were to go many years later. This could easily go on for another four minutes and I’d still be mesmerized.
