NON: “Man Cannot Flatter Fate” (Back to Mono, Mute 2012)

Boyd Rice’s Back to Mono was a really nice return to form for his NON project, ditching his philosophizing and sloganeering vocals and diving headlong back into pure noise. And yet it somehow feels reborn, new, different — an exciting payoff to his earliest days making noise and the variety of sounds he’s explored since.
