The Final Cut: “U.F.O.T.M.” (Consumed, Nettwerk 1992)

Back in the early 90s, when I was a gloomy teenager and had grown interested in the industrial dance music of Wax Trax! and Nettwerk (et. al), I started to look for side projects and spin-offs of the higher profile acts I was obsessed with (Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Front 242, etc.). Consumed was one of the albums I found in that process.

The Final Cut started as more of a house music project between Anthony Srock and Jeff Mills, but when Srock began working on Consumed with Chris Connelly (of Revolting Cocks and Ministry, not to mention his own solo career) to add some industrial edge, Mills left to pursue Underground Resistance and continued his own prolific career as a techno producer.

I had this CD for years; when I finally liquidated many of my CDs before a move across the country, I ripped it to my drive, but I lost many of those albums in a drive failure within a year. I finally decided to buy myself a legit digital replacement… I missed this stuff 🙂
