This jaunty 2-tracker from New Yorker Drew Lustman pairs his hot post-garage original up against a remix from Jamie XX. The original is all skittery garage breaks and disembodied vocal samples, sounding a tinge like Burial without the otherworldliness, less lo-fi. Jamie XX’s take on the track fattens it up for a dancefloor, adding a bulbous bassline and a little bit of swagger in its rhythm section. Both takes on the track fuse the melancholy, detached soul of the vocal with a bit of funk and an icy cool — a nice combination of sounds that goes down smoothly.
