Vessel: “Red Sex” (Punish, Honey, Tri Angle 2014)

Vessel’s Punish, Honey is near the top of my favorites of 2014, and I haven’t even been able to write about it yet. But for now, here’s a pretty fantastic fan vid using some smart edits of Jonathan Glazer’s creepy film adaptation of Under the Skin. In complete contrast to Mica Levi’s gloomy and taut, minimal score, Vessel’s weirdly detuned homemade instruments and clattering industrial groove are oddly effective against the scattered imagery of the film.
