Richie Hawtin & Thomas Brinkmann: “07:13″ (96:VR, Plus 8 1998)

Thomas Brinkmann’s minimal appropriation of Richie Hawtin’s awesomely spacious Concept 1 album still is sublime. His 2-armed turntable technique yields results that clearly surpass any gimmicky assumptions one might make — the dual stereo ping-pong and slower tempo transport the listener to a very different place from even the minimal original. Woozy and fantastic.
