Der Zyklus: “Biometric Systems” (Biometry, 2004)

Heinrich Müller (a.k.a. Gerald Donald) of Dopplereffekt and Drexciya notoriety only released one album as Der Zyklus, which sounds considerably different from the single  that put the name on the map in 2000. Like Dopplereffekt’s Linear Accelerator, this is material that soars far out of orbit of the typical dancefloor template, often with beatless sprawls of minimal synthesis and tonal experiments. Newly reissued by Clone Aqualung for those who may have missed it the first time around… this cut is one of my favorites.
