Vladislav Delay: “Viite” (Multila, Chain Reaction 2000)

Sasu Ripatti’s Multila might well be his murkiest of his early albums under the Vladislav Delay moniker, but it’s always been my favorite. It was my first impression of his music, and it sounded unlike anything I’d heard before. It still has an oddly timeless quality about it, in all of its crinkles and folds that sound both dusty and deteriorated.
