DMX Krew: Cities In Flight (Central Processing Unit)

Ed DMX returns with another ace selection of meticulous electro tracks, this time mostly shorter pieces. They will sound familiar to anyone already acquainted with DMX Krew’s aesthetic, but if those listeners are anything like me, that’s not a bad thing. He is such a master at his craft and has a distinct style that is easily identified as only his. “Binary Neutron Star” kicks things off with a jubilant melodic refrain and a bouncy fat bassline, before the sleek title cut takes things down a notch. Whether it’s the goofy melodic sitcom theme of “Malformed Video ID” or the infectious bassline funk of “EPR Phenomena” (perhaps the closest comparison to a Dopplereffekt track I’ve heard from DMX), nary a sound is out of place here. Though by now this sort of thing is hardly surprising from DMX Krew, he continues to make my ears and feet dance in delight.
