Third Eye Foundation: “Corpses as Bedmates” (Ghost, 1997)

1997 was an unusually bold year for me musically. I finally really branched out from listening to industrial and experimental noise into many other areas including jazz, indie rock, techno, and more (*cough cough* undisclosed guilty pleasures). Third Eye Foundation’s Ghost was one of my favorite albums of that time period… even now when I hear these tracks I am sharply reminded me exactly when that was, where I was mentally and physically and emotionally. Time and place are virtually inseparable from this music, but I still love it on its own weird merits. Other albums that really rocked my world in that period were Oval’s dok, Stereolab’s Transient Random Noise Bursts, Chaos AD’s Buzz Caner, Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew.
